A letter to the original boss lady: Mama Wilson

Dear Mamabear,

WTF. You gave birth to five of us, au natural. If I were you and I wasn’t drugged up for that process, I sure as hell would start afterwards. Every time you cop an attitude, I just try to remember: hey mims, she birthed not one, not two, or even three or four but FIVE (large) infants…she’s entitled to her moment of bitchdom.

Not saying you’re a terror all of the time. You’re okay. Actually, you’re more than okay, you are phenomenal.

Thank you for:

  • Always making me wear a sweater so I don’t catch a cold, or the plague
  • Constantly asking if I need gas money
  • Trying to learn new recipes for our family’s atrocious taste in food
  • You’re accidental racial slurs that are hilarious (i.e. when you burnt your toast and called it “Obama bread”…omg.)
  • Your concern about my health…although I don’t need an E.R. visit every time I sneeze
  • I also think you’re responsible for the salon brand shampoos that always seems to magically restock themselves in the bathroom
  • The way you wear fancy clothes and then nike gyms shoes with them
  • How you feel like you need to talk to me in English even though I can understand you either way
  • That whole thing about coming to America to give me and my sisters a chance at a beautiful life. Working your ass off non stop to make sure we had clothes and food and an education.

You’re in London during Mother’s Day this year, yet you called to talk to us and make sure I remembered to unplug my flat iron and turn off the coffee pot. Don’t worry, I’ve been doing the dishes.

I love you, and I don’t nearly tell you that enough. So hopefully writing it on a microblog will make amends for that. Stay classy mama!

Love always,

Your spoiled college-grad live-in bossy tween.

p.s. Please bring back a bong from England. Decoration purposes only.

Bossy Closet Diaries

God I am such a G. Look at what I found when I was cleaning out my closet:

I REGRET NOTHING!

Goin’ hard on the blog, attempt dos

Where have I been?

Coming from a point where tumblr ruled about 92% of my life, it’s weird to use again. Anyways I’ve been busy doing “grown up” things like “getting a job” and “paying bills” and even getting on my “own” insurance. Sounds lame as hell, right?

Let me fill you in:

I’m working at the cutest little design firm with one of my besties. Its not in the city like I had hoped, but you’ve got to start somewhere.

I’m also working at Michaels, the arts and crafts store, as an office specialist and teaching some basic level jewelry-making classes.

Aside from two jobs, personal projects, and occasionally seeing a few friends, I’ve been super busy. But now that I’ve settles into a routine, it’s time for me to get back onto the internet and bitch about things. Just kidding! (I’m not though).

So there’s an update. I hope I can follow through with maintaining a blog because I love reading other peoples and I want to get some ideas out there. Talk to ya’lls soon.

Look whose tumblr got a make over..

I’m back.

If people are sending out negative energy and not meeting your expectations, it is important to send them unconditional love. They are simply being themselves, doing the best they know how. You will find great inner peace when you do not need others to act in a certain way to be happy yourself. When you send someone unconditional love, it is no longer possible for you to be harmed by his or her negative energy.
